My Friend.

GAH!!! So I just reread the Maze Runner books.......gah.........so good, so sad. Page 250 of Death Cure is brutal, though. If you haven't read the books, please stop reading these words because I'm going to be writing some major spoilers.
NEWT. Why do all of my favorite characters have to die? Why? So you know when Thomas is looking out the window in the Death Cure as they're tying to get to the airport? He sees all those Cranks on the highway and as he's looking, he notices a familiar face? Newt. This is the moment I chose to draw. Not the crazy things about to happen in a few pages, but this one moment. Newt looks awful. He's bleeding, his clothes are shredded and his eyes are wild, but he recognizes Thomas. The first time I read this I think I stopped breathing.
In this moment, Thomas could have continued on, this one surreal moment led to a very desperate and horrible thing later, but this one was so clear.
I don't even know.
I'm just dead, okay?
I love these guys and I hate what happens to them.
